我原本也認為人與人相處就應該完全地真誠以待，不應該有任何的偽裝與虛假。
幾個月前，友人帶來新竹有名的羊肉爐來與我分享美味。
然而每個人的口味都不太一樣，再加上我又有挑嘴的壞習慣，所以坦白說…他帶來的食物很不合我的胃口。
我雖然沒有說出「很難吃」這三個字，但在食用時皺著眉，吃的速度也和我平常不一樣，所以還是讓友人發覺了。
友人不太高興但又很無奈…
不高興是因為－那是他覺得好吃的東西而充滿期待地分享給我的食物，我卻覺得難吃。
無奈是因為－－雖然我並沒有明說，但我還是沒有掩飾地表現難以下嚥的感覺，讓他感覺很尷尬。
於是他告訴我，其實虛假並非是完全錯誤的。
人與人相處，多多少少要帶點小比例的虛假做為潤滑，才不容易發生磨擦。
就連是親密如情侶，也要保持5%的虛假…用在無關緊要但又可能破壞氣氛的小事情上，當然前提一定不是在什麼腳踏兩條船之類不忠貞的事情上。
他告訴我，就算是真的覺得不好吃，至少也勉強自己裝作很美味地吃一口，之後再籍口『最近火氣大、頭痛，不太適合吃…』，這樣子至少不會讓對方感到難堪。
但是表現看起來就很難吃，又勉強自己吃完的行為，並不會讓對方感激…
試想：
當妳期待對方會高興而不辭辛勞及任何麻煩，花費不少時間、心力、甚至金錢地找了個禮物要送給他。
但他在收禮時不但沒有高興，反而還看起來很勉強地收下，難道妳會感激他的寬宏大量嗎？
此時的不是生氣，就是難過吧？
氣對方一點都不能體諒妳所花費的心思！
難過自己居然沒有好好調查對方所喜歡的東西，而且居然還讓對方感覺如此勉強。
用5%的小小虛假可以不破壞掉彼此之間的關係，顧全彼此的面子。
也許是不太坦誠，可是在優大於劣的情況之下，為何不？
當然過多的虛假就不會是好事了～…
我想，在坦誠與虛假之間，還是可以分一點點給虛假當做人際關係的潤滑劑。
更何況這5%的虛假並非只是為了自己的利益…
