因《海角七號》尼姑的出場，要和水蛙化緣時開口便尊稱他菩薩，所以就和友人開始了這個話題。
他最近為了案子去了一次法鼓山（還是什麼佛光山？總而言之是佛教聖地，最近也走e化。），從進去到裡面到出來，一直都被稱為菩薩。
通常出家人在稱呼他人時，用語稱呼都比普通人來得更常使用敬語。
不是使用「施主」，就是使用「菩薩」，而說台語的似乎使用「菩薩」，大概是因為台語的「施主」容易讓人聯想到不雅的諧音吧？
而另一個可能，就是之前讀蘇軾生平趣事的書當中所提到的一個理論。
故事大致上是這樣：
佛印和蘇軾是很好的朋友，常常在逗嘴，也是少數蘇軾說不過的對象。
一天，蘇軾突然靈機一動，問佛印說：「你看我是什麼？」
佛印說：「像一尊佛。」蘇軾聽了飄飄然，換佛印反問他：「那你看我是什麼？」
蘇軾打主意想占佛印的便宜，於是回答：「像一坨屎。」
佛印聽了默然不語，蘇軾得意的認為占到便宜，便打道回府，得意洋洋的對蘇小妹說這段事。蘇小妹聽了之後搖搖頭道：
「
哥哥，你的心境不純正吶～
佛印師父心中存著佛，因此見萬物皆是佛。
而你心中存著屎，因此見萬物皆是屎。
師父口中走出一尊佛，哥哥卻嘴出一坨屎，所以當然是師父的心境高於哥哥啦～！
」
同理可證，常懷感謝之心，看別人都覺得是天使、菩薩。常懷猜疑之心，看別人都覺是心懷鬼胎，處處有陰謀及迫害。
所以這大概也是出家人常以菩蕯稱呼人的可能原因之一？
但，我是不知道是不是所有的出家人都有對這點有所領悟或瞭解，或者只是依照其他師兄師姐的習慣而跟著使用！？人云亦云是不可取的…
這部分在《幻獸奇緣》這作品中亦有不斷提到…
在最後一集大約三分之一處，康妮回答化為人形的水晶之鑰的話，節錄如下：
『
如果我在心中認為你當我是敵人的話，你的心中一定也認為我是敵人吧？
